There are two initiatives I’d like to update you on: new marketing and distribution options, specifically Zazzle and Amazon KDP Select.
First, the interior artwork in my books was, for the most part, commissioned especially for that purpose and acts as an important visual aspect of the text. So, for your viewing pleasure, I have made several of those designs available to my readers as customizable merchandise. Check out the new store at http://www.zazzle.com/pactarcanum. Second, I make about 82% of my ebook sales through the various Amazon.com kindle stores. The benefits are limited of maintaining my full presence on the other distribution platforms (B&N, iBookstore, Smashwords, etc.) vs. the benefits of reaching a wider audience by engaging the exclusive tools provided to members of Amazon’s KDP Select program. Therefore, I am going to enroll Sunset (Book #1) in the KDP Select program, which requires me to remove it from all other electronic distribution for at least 90 days. The practical upshot of this is that I will have an opportunity to reach new readers, but the first book in the series will only be available through Amazon. The rest of the ebooks and all of the paperback editions will remain for sale on all platforms.
I hope that this will increase my access to readers, and will allow more people to see and (hopefully) to enjoy my work. Wish me luck.
