He was born in Rochford, Essex and studied Literature & Media at the Colchester Institute. He has lived in China where he taught English as a foreign language for one year. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a short story as an invented prose narrative shorter than a novel usually dealing with a few characters and aiming at unity of effect and often concentrating on the creation of mood rather than plot. Trouble Down South and Other Stories by Katrina Parker Williams is a collection of 12 short stories organized in chronological order that touch upon various facets of the African-American experience in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
